Student/Recent Graduate Guidance for Resumes
Education Placement: If you have less than five years of experience in the professional workforce, place your education credentials before your work history.

GPA: Include your GPA on your resume for jobs that require it; otherwise, mention it only if it is 3.0 or higher. If relevant, add the GPA for your major course of study if it is higher than your overall GPA.

Honors: List academic honors and honors associations to which you belong to show you excelled in a particular program that relates to this job. Also, include such academic achievements as graduating cum laude, etc.

Newer Grads: If you have little to no work-related experience, use the education section of your resume/profile to describe internships you completed and to emphasize academic achievements, extracurricular activities, special projects, and related courses/seminars/training.

Incomplete Degree: If you have completed some college coursework but do not have a degree, list the number of credits you have earned toward the degree or the number of credits you have left before completing the major. Also, specify if you intend to complete the degree and your interest in using ADESA's tuition reimbursement program.

High School: If you have no college credits, list your high school diploma/GED information.

Other Training: If you do not have a college degree, list any relevant training, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. that you have completed under the heading of "Professional Development" within the education section of your resume. Also include any entrepreneurial endeavors in which you have been successfully involved.
